MailScanner 5 acts as the high-throughput scanning pipeline in EFA-NG, orchestrating parallel anti-malware and anti-spam inspection, while MailWatch-NG provides the modernized PHP 8.3 administrative web interface.

MailScanner Configuration#

The primary configuration files are located under /etc/MailScanner/:

/etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf: Main engine settings, process count, quarantine paths, and notification rules.

/etc/MailScanner/rules/: Granular rule files for custom virus, spam, filename, and filetype handling.

To restart MailScanner after configuration changes:
